Sharon Begley is the senior science writer at 'Stat', the life sciences publication of the Boston Globe that is launching this fall. Previously she was the senior health and science correspondent at Reuters, and before that the science columnist at the Wall Street Journal and the science editor at Newsweek. A graduate of Yale University, she has won numerous awards for her work, including an honorary doctorate from the University of North Carolina and the Public Understanding of Science Award from the Exploratorium. She and Jeffery Schwartz wrote, The Mind and the Brain. Sharon is the co-author, with Richard Davidson, of The Emotional Life of Your Brain, and she is the author of Train Your Mind, Change Your Brain. She is a Key Note Speaker on the topics of science writing, neuroplasticity, and science literacy, including at Yale University (her alma mater), the Society for Neuroscience, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the National Academy of Sciences.
