Amar Kaleka

Born in India, raised in Wisconsin, Amar Singh Kaleka is the youngest son of Satwant Singh Kaleka, the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin president who heroically died trying to protect his community’s Church on August 5th, 2012. Amar is a former teacher, an Emmy Award winning filmmaker, and a community organizer. His work in Washington DC on gun legislation and hate crimes has been noted by insiders as a remarkable show of candor and straight talk. He is not only respected by many on Capital Hill but also many hard working blue collar families who see him as “one of their own.” Currently, he is finishing up his fifth feature film - Peacemakers, which is a unique study of violence in America and the solutions for realizing peace.
