Jean Fefer

Born in Omaha, Nebraska May 2, 1931 1953: B.A. University of Nebraska at Omaha, Chemistry/Math Ph.D. Northwestern University Inorganic/Physical Chemistry, 1956 Married, had two children 1956-59: Worked as a Research Chemist at Esso Research & Engineering Co. in N.J. 1959-62: Taught Chemistry at Rutgers The State University of N.J. as an Assist. Prof. of Chem. Moved to Houston in 1971 and have lived in the West Houston area since then. 1975-91: Taught Chemistry at UofH-Downtown Campus for 16 years and retired in 1991 as Emeritus Professor of Chemistry. 1993-96: State certified Nursing Home Ombudsman. 97-99 completed Harris County Master Gardener course and Urban Harvest Organic Specialty Vegetables Course. 2000-01 served as MG 2nd VP program coordinator and president in 01-02. 2003 Coordinated the greenhouse program for Harris County, taught the Propagation class and co-chaired the Tomato/Pepper Sale. 2005-2015 coordinated the gardening program at the Turning Point Center.
