Wendy Knecht

Wendy Knecht, author of Life, Love, and a Hijacking: My Pan Am Memoir, was destined to be a traveler. Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to travel. My 5th grade composition, “What I Want Most in My Life,” detailed the need for $200,000 so “I CAN GO AROUND THE WORLD.” I wrote that curiosity killed the cat, and I wanted to make sure it never killed me. If I saw everything, there would be no danger! Pan Am made the dream happen. After pursuing my degree at the University of Arizona, I became a flight attendant for the world's most iconic airline, Pan Am. My rich and amazing career included many wonderful adventures, discoveries, and life lessons. I wrote my personal memoir to memorialize a time in aviation like no other in history. What a privilege to be part of this era! I became an inventor, on-air spokesperson, and a product entrepreneur. I have appeared on QVC and other networks, as the on-air spokesperson for the line of the line of travel bags I designed based on my travels.
