Leroy Chiao
Leroy Chiao is a former NASA astronaut, International Space Station commander, and engineering consultant. Dr. Chiao is a veteran of four space missions and has logged over 200 days in space, 37 of which were spent in extra vehicular activity (EVA, or spacewalks). In 2009, he served as a member of the White House-appointed Review of U.S. Human Spaceflight Plans Committee, and has received numerous awards including four NASA Space Flight Medals. Dr. Chiao is currently the special adviser for human spaceflight to the Space Foundation and serves on the NASA Advisory Council.
