Monica McTaggart
Monica is an enthusiastic, experienced musician, clinician, composer, arts administrator and independent music teacher of piano, brass, handbells and recorder. She is also a sound catalyst and enjoys giving sound meditation and relaxation sessions using song and sound, incorporating voice and a wide variety of instruments.
She currently plays solo as Celestial Sounds, in Agape FLOW - a duo with Charles Snelleksz - Mathelot, and in Lotus Heart, a six member band.
Monica is the Western Australian Representative of the Handbell Society of Australia. An international clinician, and conductor, she is the founder and Music Director of the BellsWest, directing its three handbell/hand chime groups.
In addition to her piano teaching and the handbell work, she has been a recorder instructor for many local and national camps/conferences, and is a past president of the Recorder and Early Music Society of WA.
Monica studied recorder with Eva Legene at the Early Music Institute, Indiana University
