Betsy Hays
Betsy Hays, APR, Fellow PRSA, is the lead Public Relations Professor for the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at California State University, Fresno. Betsy is the faculty adviser for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and Fresno State’s student-run PR firm, TALK. Active in PRSA since 1998, including two terms as president of the Central California Chapter, she is the immediate past chair of the Board of Directors for the North Pacific District. She was named Outstanding Club/Organization Adviser in 2013, Outstanding Adviser in 2010 and selected as one of the Provost’s Promising New Tenure-Track Faculty Members in 2008. She received Fresno State’s “Spirit of Service” Award in 2010 for her work infusing service-learning into her curricula. Betsy was named the Central California Chapter of PRSA’s Public Relations Professional of the Year in 2000 and is the co-author of three books, including "Win & Wow: Public Relations Secrets for Everyday Success."
