Jean Betschart Roemer MSN, MN, CPNP, CDE
Jean Betschart Roemer MSN, MN, CPNP, CDE has been active in the field of pediatric diabetes for over 35 years. She worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner and diabetes educator in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and also is a past president of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. Jean retired from Children’s UPMC in 2015, and is now consulting to a grant on transition of care in diabetes there. She was named the 1994 National American Diabetes Association outstanding health professional educator and has been honored with awards nationally and locally.
She has authored many books, booklets, media and articles for and about children, caregivers, and health care professionals.
