Moria Weigel


Moria Weigel is Brooklyn born now living in San Francisco and got married while writing her book. She is Ph.D. candidate in Comparative Literature and Film and Media at Yale. She writes about gender, media, and culture. She earned a BA at Harvard and an M. Phil at Cambridge University, where she was the Harvard Scholar in residence at Emmanuel College, and worked as an assistant editor at Harper’s Magazine. Her academic interests revolve around the intersections of film, literature, and philosophy during the long twentieth century.
In “Labor of Love” she argues that the various courtship rituals of the past hundred-odd years have reflected the labor-market conditions of their day.
