Alexa Giebink
Alexa Giebink is a recent graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN with a bachelors in History. She was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Phoenix: Rising From Addiction is her first, but hopefully not last, book. Her mom, Mary Ann Giebink, was a successful lawyer in Sioux Falls but also suffered from alcoholism and depression. Alexa's first book tells the story of having an addict for a mother and how their family persevered through trials and tragedy. Mary Ann is now five years sober and works as Development Manager for The Glory House, which provides a safe environment and programs for adults recovering from substance abuse and/or criminal offenses. Part of the proceeds for each book sold will be donated to The Glory House so others have the option to recover like Mary Ann.
