Patty Hansen
Patty Hansen has co-authored many of the most beloved stories in the Chicken Soup for the Soul® collection. With her writing partner Irene Dunlap, she contributed to Chicken Soup for the Kid’s Soul, Chicken Soup for the Kid’s Soul 2, Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul, Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul 2, Chicken Soup Christmas Treasury for Kids, Chicken Soup for the Child’s Soul and Chicken Soup for the Girl’s Soul. Prior to her career as an author, Patty worked for United Airlines as a flight attendant receiving two commendations for bravery. In 1979 she married Mark Victor Hansen, future co-founder of Chicken Soup for the Soul. In 1998, Patty became the President of Legal and Licensing for Chicken Soup for the Soul Enterprises, Inc. Patty’s marriage to Mark Victor Hansen ended after nearly 27 years together, though the two remain on friendly terms.
