Christopher Bishop has had seven different careers since graduating from Bennington College with a B.A. in German literature. He is currently chief reinvention officer at *improvising careers”. He has worked as a touring rock musician (played bass with Robert Palmer), jingle producer (sang on the first Kit Kat jingle “Gimme A Break”), Web site project manager (developed Johnson & Johnson’s first corporate Web site) and spent 15 years at IBM. He was a business strategy consultant in Global Technology Services and also worked at IBM headquarters, providing communications support for the Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs organization, driving social media adoption and use of virtual worlds. Chris is also a member of the board of TEDxTimesSquare and gave a talk on *Openness* in April 2013. He writes, consults and speaks about “improvising careers” at universities and industry conferences.
