Karen Longman


Karen A. Longman serves as a Professor and Ph.D. Program Director in the Department of Higher Education at Azusa Pacific University. This doctoral program serves approximately 100 students from across North America and around the world. Her Ph.D. is from The University of Michigan.
Karen previously spent 19 years as Vice President for Professional Development and Research at the Washington, DC-based Council for Christian Colleges & Universities. In that role, she designed an ongoing Executive Leadership Development Initiative that has involved 400+ participants (presidents, chief academic officers, and emerging leaders) since 1996.
Karen is a co-editor with Susan Madsen and Faith Ngunjiri of a book series focused on Women and Leadership. She was the lead editor on the first volume in the series, titled “Women and Leadership in Higher Education.” This eight-volume series was developed through a partnership between the International Leadership Association and Information Age Publishing.
