Kate Linder
Kate Linder has portrayed Esther Valentine on CBS’ The Young and the Restless, the #1 rated soap opera, for almost 35 years. In 2008, Linder received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was in the recent feature films Hysteria, Erased, Miss Meadows, Garry Marshall's Mother's Day and The Charnel House and is also in the upcoming films Stereotypically You, Voices from the Stone and A Song for the Living.
Linder has been the celebrity spokesperson for The ALS Association for over a decade since her late brother-in-law’s initial diagnosis. She has lobbied Congress on their behalf and won several of their volunteer awards for her efforts. Linder also is a longtime board member for SAG-AFTRA and is active with countless charities that benefit research and support for health-related causes. She also works with the Los Angeles Mission and makes trips visiting troops with the USO. In 1976, she married Ron Linder on Valentine’s Day.
