VICTOR L. SCHERMER, MA, LFAGPA


VICTOR L. SCHERMER, is a licensed psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist in Philadelphia, PA. He has served as founding Director of Outpatient Addictions Services at Mirmont Treatment Center and Faculty Member of the Institute for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapies. A Life Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, he served as a consultant to their September 11th Disaster Outreach Task Force and authored their training module, “Masked Trauma.” Vic has edited and authored many books, with the most recent being, Meaning, Mind, and Self-Transformation: Psychoanalytic Interpretation and the Interpretation of Psychoanalysis . With R. Klein, he co-edited two special editions of the International Journal of Group Psychotherapy: Toward Understanding and Treating Violence in America: Some Contributions from Group Dynamic and Group Therapy Perspectives, republished in book form as, Violence in America. He is a frequent presenter, nationally and internationally.
