Walker McKinley


Walker McKinley is one of half of the firm’s founding partnership, holding a Master of Design Studies (with Distinction) from Harvard University and a Master of Architecture degree (with Honours) from the University of Calgary. Walker has served as an instructor in Architectural Design in the Faculty of Environmental Design at the University of Calgary, currently serves as an instructor in Interior Design at Mount Royal and has been in demand as a critic and lecturer at design schools across the country. Walker has been named to the 40 under 40 awards program three consecutive years and has been nominated twice to the national awards of the same name. While heading the business development and strategy aspects of McKinley Burkart, Walker’s experience has spanned the range of scales from interiors for Westin Hotels and Herman Miller to a 31 story residential complex in Calgary and the 25 million dollar Shore mixed-use complex in Tofino, BC.
