Monty Powell is one of the most successful songwriters in country music history with over 60 million records containing one of his songs with Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Brooks & Dunn, Chris Cagle, James Otto, JoDee Messina, Chuck Wicks, & Diamond Rio. In his 30 year career Monty has won CMA Album of the Year for producing Songs of the Eagles & Tribute to Merle Haggard, nominated for Country Music Assoc Song of The Year for Keith Urban’s Tonight I Wanna Cry, named SESAC’s Country Songwriter of the Year, won the CMA Triple Play Award for penning three #1 songs in the same year & received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Song in a Motion Picture: For You, with Keith Urban in Act of Valor. With his wife, jazz recording artist/songwriter, Anna Wilson, Monty produced a project of re-imagined songs by Billy Joel called Nashville State of Mind featuring Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson & others, and currently records & performs with their new band Troubadour 77.
