Greg Gorbett is an Associate Professor in the Fire, Arson and Explosion Investigation degree Program at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. He serves as a vice chair for the Fire and Arson Investigator Journal of the IAAI, as a principle member of NFPA 921-Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations, and as a principle member of NFPA 1033-Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator. He also currently serves as the secretary for the Fire and Explosion Investigation subcommittee for the Organization of Scientific Area Committees as part of an initiative by NIST and Department of Justice to strengthen forensic science in the United States.
For the past 16-years, he has worked as a fire and explosion expert and currently runs his own consulting firm, Fire Dynamics Analysts. Mr. Gorbett holds two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Fire Science, and the other in Forensic Science. Additionally he is certified as a CFEI, IAAI-CFI, CFPS, CVFI, and CFII.
