Mr. Ted Gustus, Jr.


Ted Gustus Jr., affectionately known as “Coach Gustus”, started his teaching and coaching journey 44 years ago. He has positively impacted and transformed the lives of thousands of adolescent students. He is currently the PSAL Commissioner of boys high school Basketball for the borough of Brooklyn. He has been recognized and receive a number of awards for his community services. Coach Gustus was inducted into the Brooklyn USceA Athletic Hall of Fame and named one of the top 50 basketball players from the Brownsville/Canarsie community. Coach Gustus received the Double Gold Positive Coach’s Award at Sanford University and the Life -Time Mentor Award at Rutgers University. In addition, Coach Ted Gustus has authored one book; “Confessions of a M.A. D. (Making A Difference) Black Coach. He has been working diligently on several books under the Power In One Breath Book Series. Finally, Coach Gustus has received recognition from President Barack Obama for his lifetime achievements.
