Sara Gorman, PhD, MPH


Sara Gorman, PhD, MPH is a public health specialist and author of the book Denying to the Grave: Why We Ignore the Facts That Will Save Us (OUP, 2016). She is co-founder of Critica, an organization committed to improving public trust in science. She has worked in a variety of public health settings and on a variety of public health issues, including domestic health policy, global mental health, and healthcare delivery in Africa. She has written extensively about science communication, psychology, and global health, among other topics. She has a special interest in the psychology of healthcare decision making and the public perception of risk. Her work has appeared or been reviewed in The New Yorker, TIME, BBC, Science, Scientific American, Psychology Today, and NPR, among others.
