Dr. William DeJong


William DeJong, Ph.D. is a Professor of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health and serves on the board of directors for the Responsible Retailing Forum. From 1995-2004, he directed the U.S. Department of Education's Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention (HEC). He is the author of over 400 monographs, book chapters, and academic papers in substance abuse prevention, health promotion, criminal justice, and social psychology. In 2000, he received the College Leadership Award from the American Public Health Association (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Section) and in 2008, he received the Outstanding Contribution to the Field Award from The Network Addressing Collegiate Alcohol and Other Drug Issues. Dr. DeJong received a doctorate in social psychology from Stanford University in 1977.
