Susan Stryker


Susan Stryker is Associate Professor of Gender and Women's Studies at the University of Arizona and founding co-editor of the journal TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly. She's won a Lambda Literary Award for the anthology The Transgender Studies Reader, the Ruth Benedict Book Prize for Transgender Studies Reader 2, an Emmy Award for the documentary film Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton's Cafeteria, and Yale University’s Michael Brudner Prize for career achievement in LGBT Studies. A revised and expanded edition of her book Transgender History: The Roots of Today's Revolution will be published by Seal Press later this year, and her next book, What Transpires Now, is forthcoming from Farrar Straus Giroux.
