Chris Webber, MD
Chris Webber obtained his medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and worked in trauma and then in family practice in the Johannesburg area. In 1997, he transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry and joined Quintiles in South Africa where he became Medical Director. He spent 7 years in Quintiles where he was medically responsible for all studies across most therapeutic areas, as well as for Business Development, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs Contracting and Pharmacovigilance.In 2005, Dr Webber joined Wyeth, South Africa where he started up the Clinical Research and Development operations in the Johannesburg office. He is Senior Director, Vaccines Clinical Research and Development,is clinical program lead of the recently acquired meningococcal ACWY program from GSK, and is the clinical program lead for Pfizer’s Clostridium difficile vaccine.
