Elmer 'Bubba' Johnson


Elmer “Bubba” Johnson graduated from Texas A&M in 1983 and went to NASA to work as an aerospace engineer and safety officer. Bubba worked on the space shuttle program creating the abort flight design and the mechanical subsystems that include hatches, windows, seats, landing gear, tires and brakes.
As the occupational and institutional safety officer, Bubba serves as the Chairman for the Region VI VPP Board of Directors, is a public safety liaison and handles emergency response. Bubba will talk about the devastation and recovery from Hurricane Harvey.
