Empty Arms has been serving baby-loss families in the Saskatoon (Canada) area since June 2015, through a wide variety of services, all of which are available to the families at no cost. The mission and underlying premise of their organization is simple: by parents (families) through the process of simultaneously welcoming and saying farewell to their babies. Empty Arms helps make the experience as gentle as possible for these families. In short, their mission is to work with families to build a strong foundation, ensuring their grief journey is healthy and that family members feel supported at all times. There are in-hospital services as well as after-care services such as one-to-to peer support, lactation education, and support groups (both on-line and in-person).
