Elana Zaiman


Elana Zaiman, the first woman rabbi from a family spanning six generations of rabbis, has spent her life bringing people together. She is the chaplain at The Summit at First Hill retirement community in Seattle and is a certified Wise Aging instructor. Elana is the Ethics and Spirituality writer at LivFun, a publication for Leisure Care retirement facilities in ten states. As a volunteer, Elana is a co-partner in Seattle Sewing Circles, bringing together Jews, Muslims, and Christians to create feminine hygiene kits for girls in Cameroon, Africa. Elana speaks and teaches regularly at synagogues, churches, interfaith gatherings, social service agencies, geriatric residencies, women’s organizations, and elder-law, healthcare, and financial and estate planning conferences. Over the years, Elana has served as a rabbi at synagogues around the country, Prior to her ordination, she was the Adult Program Associate at Brandeis-Bardin Institute. www.ElanaZaiman.com
