Erik Cortina began shooting with his father when he was 5 years old. He became an F – Class shooter in 2009 after he had travelled to Colorado for an Elk hunt. He realized he would be taking long shots, and wanted to be prepared when the situation presented itself. Erik’s daughter has been shooting F – Open as well.
Erik is currently the captain on Team Lapua-Brux-Borden and really enjoys mentoring those who are looking to excel in the sport.
He placed Top 10 in the Berger Southwest Nationals, remains Texas State LR Champion (3 years in a row), won a Bronze medal in World Championship with Rutland team (Team USA Red), placed 3rd in F-Class Nationals and received a bronze medal for coming in 5th in individuals at Worlds as well.
In addition to his passion for the shooting sports, Erik is a General Contractor and owns two companies, Xtreme Concrete, LTD. and Texas Barndominiums, LTD.
