Jon von Tetzchner
Jon S. von Tetzchner co-founded Opera Software in 1995, and led it as its CEO from 1995 to 2010. During his time, Opera became the world leader in mobile and device browsers. Opera was widely recognized for its technological innovations.
In 2013 Jon co-founded Vivaldi Technologies, and launched the Vivaldi Web Browser in 2016. With a solid following, it is feature rich and places the user in control.
Jon is a firm promoter of the open Web, open Web standards and universal access. He was a member of the Forum for Young Global Leaders in 2005, and was a BusinessWeek Stars of Europe in 2004. In 2009, Informa named Tetzchner a Top-40 leader shaping the mobile communications industry. GigaOM named him one of the top 15 mobile influencers. In 2011 Jon was awarded The Honorary Rozing prize.
Jon is a self-confessed geek with a big interest in gadgets and high-tech devices. When traveling, he may prefer a visit to local electronics stores rather than a popular tourist spot.
