Lucas Turner-Owens


Lucas Turner-Owens is Fund Manager for the Boston Ujima Project. In his role he provides Technical Assistance to entrepreneurs, connects them with business support organizations, gives financial education to Ujima's non-accredited investor base, does loan packaging, underwriting, and manages Ujima's portfolio of investments.
Lucas’s previous work includes serving as economic policy analyst for Operation HOPE, a nonprofit focused on consumer financial education; as a loan officer for Cooperation DC, providing technical assistance and expansion loans to grow social enterprises and worker-owned co-operatives in Washington, D.C.; as a senior analyst for Next Street Financial, supporting clients making impact investments and strategic growth decisions.
As a volunteer and organizer Lucas has also been involved in local grassroots movements in Boston in partnership with groups like A.C.E. and the Mattapan CDC. Lucas was a founding member of the Youth Against Mass Incarceration (now YA).
