Maghan McDowell


Maghan McDowell is a San Francisco-based journalist, teacher and artist, covering fashion, technology, culture, business and beyond. She reports for Business of Fashion, W magazine, Racked and the San Francisco Chronicle, among others, and teaches fashion journalism at Academy of Art University. She has interviewed those including former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, writer and director Jill Soloway, actor Patricia Arquette, Gap founder Don Fisher, fashion designer Zac Posen and Olympic gold medalist Christian Taylor. Before becoming the first technology reporter for WWD, McDowell was a features reporter for the Sunday Style section of the San Francisco Chronicle and a Florida magazine editor. She has a degree in journalism from the University of Florida and studied fashion as the Savannah College of Art & Design.
