Katie Madden had 4 months of dose dense chemotherapy in Tucson, AZ. She returned home to Alaska in June for 5 weeks to gain strength prior to her surgery. She opted to have bilateral mastectomies and reconstruction expanders in Tucson because Fairbanks did not have a plastic surgeon.
Her plastic surgeon recommended Aeroform Expanders which would allow Katie to return to Alaska and do her expanding at home rather than going into the doctor's. office every week. This process allowed her to return to AK after her expanders were put in in July.
