Ula Tinsley
Ula Tinsley, MSc better known as URSA Autism Mama Bear, is an autism advocate and featured writer at www.icare4autism.org. She’s been raising autism awareness on a local and national level since 2010, when her son, Michael was diagnosed with autism. Since then, Ula has been participating in Autism conferences and seminars, gaining more experience and knowledge about different ways of treating ASD, she’s been supporting and consulting other families living with autism.
Last October Michael took part at the Neuro-Acupuncture Institute seminar, as a patient of Dr. Jason Hao. After just one session and 3 needles, Michael was calmer and more alert. After 4 sessions, he was counting, reading out loud letters and numbers, drawing and playing with his sister and spontaneously saying “hello” to his teachers and friends for the first time. The Tinsleys can now enjoy eating out in a restaurant, going to church as a family, and having guests over, without Michael having a meltdown.
