Phyllis Abbott


Phyllis is the founder/President of Lady Veterans Connect,Inc (formerly Sheppard’s Hands).
She is a professor at Grand Canyon University where she teaches classes in leadership and marketing. She presently serves on the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs Women’s Advisory Board serving the needs of women veterans. She is the Chair of Veterans Resources United of Central/Southeastern Kentucky (VRUCK). In 2004, she was the co-founder of the Church Under the Bridge Ministry in downtown Lexington providing church services and other programs and services for the homeless population. She is the recipient of the Commonwealth Ambassador Award and the Gold Star Award for Outstanding Patriotism. Additionally, she was appointed by Congressman Barr to serve on the commission for H.R. 3642 Military Save Act to study Military Sexual Trauma.
