Elizabeth Dougherty is a social worker who fosters communication, compassion and resiliency in the context of coping with complex illness, grief and bereavement. She specializes in palliative and end of life care and supporting individuals and families of all ages from diagnosis through to bereavement. Elizabeth was appointed as the first Palliative Social Worker at one of the largest cancer treatment centres in the world. She specialized in therapeutic interventions with individuals and families facing complex illnesses,uncertainty and grief.Wanting to broaden access to Palliative Care in the community, in 2015, Elizabeth launched her private practice supporting people of all ages facing serious illness, dying and grief.
An experienced educator, Elizabeth highlights the value of compassion and communication in the context of coping with complex illness, grief and loss.
