Dr. Heather Patisaul


Heather Patisaul, PhD is a professor of biological sciences and researcher at the Center for Human Health and the Environment at NC State University. Her lab explores the mechanisms by which endocrine-disrupting compounds (EDCs) alter pathways in the brain related to sex-specific physiology and behavior. Much of Dr. Patisaul’s work focuses on phytoestrogens, flame retardants, and Bisphenol A. She has participated on several national and international expert panels and workshops related to health effects associated with soy and other endocrine disruptors and is the author of “Endocrine Disruptors, Brain, and Behavior (Oxford Press, 2017).
