Dani Shapiro
Dani Shapiro is the bestselling author of the memoirs Hourglass, Still Writing, Devotion, and Slow Motion, and five novels including Black & White and Family History. Her stories and essays have appeared in many publications including The New Yorker, Granta, Elle, Vogue, The New York Times Book Review, the op-ed pages of The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. She read an excerpt of her memoir Slow Motion for “This American Life” and has been Oprah Winfrey’s guest on”Super Soul Sunday.” Dani has taught in the writing programs at Columbia, NYU, The New School and Wesleyan University. She currently teaches at retreats and private workshops internationally. She is co-founder of the Sirenland Writers Conference in Positano, Italy. Dani lives with her family in Litchfield County, Connecticut.
