John  Tague

John Tague


John was born in Erie, PA. He has lived in Pittsburgh for over 65 years. He is married and has two daughters. He graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1969. For over 40 years John has been active in community service and has spent the last 20 years advocating for the rights of individuals with disabilities.
Government Rendell appointed John as the initial Chair of the Governor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities. He also serves on the Pennsylvania Vocational Rehabilitation State Board.
John is heavily involved in transportation issues and is a board member of Port Authority of Allegheny County and former President of the Allegheny County Transit Council. John is Chair of the Pennsylvania Transportation Alliance, a statewide advocacy group.
John is on the City/County Task Force on Disabilities, as well as former Vice-Chair of the Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations.
