Sarah Leaman
Sarah Leaman is a third grade teacher at one of New York City’s most popular and populous elementary schools, P. S. 321 in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Serving 1,300 children in grades K-5, the school has long been a bulwark of creative community in “brownstone Brooklyn.” Sarah has been teaching there for 18 years and was a parent at the school as well, of her son Jake, now 23.
Sarah was raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in classics from the University of Virginia, where she was a Jefferson Scholar. She received an MS in Elementary Education from Hunter College, CUNY, and an M.Ed. In Public School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.
In addition, she is also the recipient of a Master Teacher Fellowship from Math for America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting math and science education by supporting teachers.
