Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Mark Hasara is a KC-135 Instructor Pilot and expert in air mobility operations. A veteran of four wars, Mark directed the creation of the world’s only graduate-level air refueling institution, the KC-135 Weapons School.
Eight days after 9/11, Mark began a series of deployments flying missions to direct all refueling operations across the Middle East and the Horn of Africa as Chief of the Air Refueling Control Team. His team was responsible for transferring over a billion pounds of fuel to coalition aircraft.
Mark authored Tanker Pilot: Lessons from the Cockpit, released by Simon and Schuster in November 2017. The book offers a thrilling eyewitness account of modern warfare, with inspirational stories and moral lessons for people on the battlefield, in boardrooms, and in their everyday lives. Mark and his wife Valerie have been married for 30 years and are the parents of five wonderful kids.
