Gerard Das, Big Data COE at SAP, is familiar with the stack – relational data bases, big data, messaging, event processing, and distributed computing. He spent the past 10 years in Big Data with a couple of years at Cloudera where he sold the first hadoop licenses to Wall Street, CBS Interactive and GE, and later on at Altiscale, the first fully managed big data service with founding members from the original hadoop team at Yahoo, Netflix and Google. The last 3 years, Gerard has been the leading member of the Big Data COE, which is part of the SAP Cloud family.
