Anne Biklé


Anne Biklé is an author and biologist who investigates and writes about connections between people, plants, food, health, and the environment. Prior to writing full-time, she worked as an environmental planner in the fields of salmon restoration and public health in the Seattle, WA region. Her work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, and radio and her soil-building practices have been featured in independent and documentary films. Restoring life to dead dirt to build a garden led to writing, The Hidden Half of Nature: The Microbial Roots of Life and Health, which she co-authored with her husband, geologist, David Montgomery. Anne holds Bachelors’ degrees in Biology and Natural History from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
