Vickie D'Avanzo
Vickie D’Avanzo is the owner of Stellar Support Services, who has earned many degrees including international business, liberal arts, and ASL interpreting. Having studied and traveled extensively Vickie was never quite fulfilled.
On November 5, 1969 Vickie’s life was forever changed, her sister Debbie was born with Down ’s syndrome. Debbie shows everyone more love and kindness than is imaginable. However, she like so many others struggled to “fit in”, to have “friends” of her own and to go places without mom and dad. Enter her Hab Aid, who made her so happy and gave her such a sense of normalcy. Vickie watched as her sister blossomed into a young woman living her life to her fullest potential as a fully integrated member of society. Vickie also volunteered with the Special Olympics for over 15 years under the direction of her mother, who started the program in her home county.
