Karen MacDonald, MS, RN, CPHQ

Ms. MacDonald has a BSN & MSN from U of MN and over 40 years of experience in nursing & healthcare. She has held many nursing and executive leader roles with HealthEast Care System in St. Paul, MN. She currently serves as a healthcare & nursing advisor, mentor, teacher & consultant with a focus in nurse leader development, governance, quality & patient safety. Karen is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a Certified Practitioner of the MBTI Step I and II instruments. She has served on the U of MN’s School of Nursing Alumni Society Board since 2014 now serves as a Board Past-President. She is a member of the MN Org. of Leaders in Nrsg (MOLN) and the American Org. of Nurse Execs.(AONE). In 2013 was awarded MOLN Star in recognition of outstanding volunteer efforts in support of MOLN, including 4 years of MOLN Board service. She served as MOLN’s representative on the Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety (MAPS) & supports goal of 10,000 nurses on boards by 2020.
