Amy Berman

Amy Berman has been living with metastatic breast cancer for over 5 years. She is a nurse and nationally recognized expert in the care of the aged. Amy is a senior program officer at the John A. Hartford Foundation, which is devoted to helping improve the care of older adults, and has been the recipient of numerous honors for her advocacy on behalf of older adults and those facing serious illness. She has presented to the Institute on Medicine and has authored numerous pieces about her health care choices, palliative care and implications for patients, practice and policy. She has been featured in New York Times, Forbes, and on NPR.
