Levi
Levi learned early on that he had to care for himself. Looking back on his childhood, he could not recall a time when his parents taught him right from wrong. As a child, he ran the household. At age 12, he lived in a shed fixed up for him not far from his parent’s home. At age 14, he was living on his own, “free” to do what an angry, rebellious teen does- survive anyway he could. To complicate things even more, his grandpa who he idolized, died. Levi wanted to become a Marine just like him. At age 17, Levi received 3rd and 4th degree burns over 35% of his body. The goal of becoming a Marine was shattered. And so, the illegal tools of survival in a hostile world kicked in. At age 19, Levi began his life of multiple incarcerations. His identity was embedded in drugs, alcohol, control and manipulation through pain inflicted on others. His world was in his control until God brought him down. Levi is now 37 years old and incarcerated. He is a new creation, a defining new creation.
