Chief Stuart Hedley

Stuart Hedley has lived a legacy of service — 20 years of active duty service and 50 years of military service to his San Diego community.
He’s an active member of the SanDiego Pearl Harbor Survivor Association, having held the office of Vice President or President many times. Over a 40-year span Stuart has been the driving force behind the SDPHSA Speakers Bureau, speaking to schools, civic organizations, and military commands.
He has been awarded the 2015 Life Patriot Award (Midway Museum), 2005 San Diego Veteran of the Year, and 2001 Veteran of the Year for the Veteran’s Journal. The Chief Hedley Legacy Award recognizes one 2nd Class Petty Officer, one 1st Class Petty Officer, and one Chief for their outstanding leadership, mentorship and volunteerism that have impacted on their command.
