Mike Ryan
Mike Ryan is NEAVS’ Director of Government Relations & Policy at the New England Anti-Vivisection Society (NEAVS, pronounced KNEEVZ), which is a Boston-based animal rights organization that dates back to 1895. He runs their federal and state campaigns, and his main focus is on ending the abuse of primates in medical experiments. Before joining NEAVS, Mike was a consultant to PETA, where he advised their work to fully end chimpanzee research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), an effort praised by The Hill as a “top lobbying victory of 2015.” Ryan's work is also credited with helping pressure NIH in 2015 to end cruel experiments on baby monkeys. Ryan’s efforts also led to a permanent ban in 2017 on Coast Guard medical trainings that abused goats and pigs.
