Israela Meyerstein

Israela Meyerstein LCSW-C, has helped families, couples, and individuals for over forty years often focusing on serious illness, spirituality and healthy coping. In 2001 Baltimore Magazine named her a leading mental health professional. She has an MSW from Columbia and was a Fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she became a Faculty Associate. Israela directed a Family Therapy Training Program at Sheppard Pratt Hospital from 1986-98, trained hundreds of professionals, taught Family Therapy to college and graduate students, and published over thirty articles. She co-founded the Baltimore Jewish Healing Network and with Rabbi Gila Ruskin, co-led Spiritual groups for those with serious illness. She wrote Bridge to Healing: Finding Strength to Cope with Illness, available in English and Hebrew, for patients, family, caregivers and health professionals. Her new book is Miracle Nation.
