Elizabeth Rynecki
Elizabeth Rynecki is the author of Chasing Portraits: A Great-Granddaughter’s Quest for Her Lost Art Legacy, and the writer-producer-director of the documentary film which follows her along her path to finding both art and healing. Her book is a memoir of one woman’s emotional quest to find the art of her Polish-Jewish great-grandfather, lost during World War II. She is not looking to reclaim the art for its monetary value, but rather to get closer to her family’s roots, to discover where the portraits have landed and to preserve them for their beauty and historical value.
