Paul Schanfield, MD

Dr. Schanfield is a Minnesota Neurologist, who retired in 2015 after 40 years in private practice. As a University of Minnesota Clinical Professor of Neurology, he continues to teach medical students and residents in Family Practice and Neurology. He received the first ever University Neurology Community Educator of the Month in 2017. Besides being a perennial Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine “Top Doctor” since 1992, he has received teaching awards from the University Family Practice Residencies at Bethesda and Phalen Village Clinics. In 2018 Dr. Schanfield was awarded the Community Teacher of the Year by the United Family Medicine Residents “in the spirit of the great teachers of medicine who have transmitted a heritage of proficiency , scholarship and caring to us and future generations.”
